No, it's not necessary to have reciprocal links. Actually, the best kinds of links are one-way links, which indicate that the website is casting a "vote" for your site.

Yeah one way links are best but a few reciprocals can help if they are relevant sites.

do you know why one way link is better than reciprocal link? i used to get email from someone and he said 3-ways link exchange do you know what does it mean 3-ways links?

Yes, agree one way link is best. But we do link exhange to link to trusted site, link to high PR site and get quality link.

if you want to reciprocal link do it with the high pagerank and if you want get one way link the best way is submit your article to many article directory and leave comment in other blog and you can try yahoo answer

Reciprocal link, hmmmm, if the directory is good, why don't you give a try.

Link exchange, gives you an additional backlink to your site. But do it maybe once or twice a week
