Clearing topics from Google search box

I try to keep on top of my computer housekeeping by deleting temporary internet files and history but I cannot clear the drop down search topic history from the google search box.
Does anyone know how to do this, and is it a function of my PC or the Google server?

click the google image in the left side.. and theres a drop down selection.. select: Clear search history...
