A wallpaper for a true Googler

Yes, that's the Google homepage.
Not an image.
Really.

About a month ago, I discovered that you can use a web page as a wallpaper. So I thought "Cool! I'll use the Google homepage!" So I saved the page (and the logo in a separate folder). I tried it out and I got an error message because it was trying to do a Google search in my C: drive.

So after an hour of playing with the code, I got it working. Now I can enter a search query into the text box, and when I hit enter, it shows the results in Firefox!

Please note that you will need to save logo.gif in "C:/Docs & Settings/Owner/App Data/Microsoft/Internet Explorer/".

I just thought I should share it to a place where people might actually use it.

Yup. Just copy and paste the source in a file like "google.htm" and apply it as your wallpaper!

What I have been trying to do to it is enable tabs or menus so you can click on "Images" and it will activate an image search.

After experimenting for several hours, I finished a new version of that wallpaper:

And It's fully interactive! It required 4 separate images and a lot of patience. I had to redo the Google logo and take several screenshots to make everything fit seamlessly. I'll keep it there for a long time to come.

BTW, it looks better as a 32 bit wallpaper than a 24 bit png.
