Google considers the quality and content of the links while determining a web page’s importance. concentrate on lquality ink building, reciprocal links,submit your website in top web directories. Yes, it's a good start.

You have to make your web site interesting, so others would love to come back and read more, then you won't even notice how fast they will start linking to your web site and you'll get more traffic.

As an example, I wrote only 1 single article, which explained how to fix an error in prototype.js and what happened? Now, this article is most wanted on the internet than Bill Gates himself, as there was no solution for this error for almost 1 year! 10 mln. web links on this issue and millions of web developers would tear you apart to get it solved...

Make something similar, contribute to the internet community...find something you're good at - then work hard to deliver it to people....and they won't forget you!

Yes sure, no prob! Here it is: http://www.skybyte.net/articles/prototype.js/

You can find it by keywords: "$a is not defined prototype.js"
You can't find it anymore by: "$a is not defined prototype"

As usual, I messed up with the description for this article, I've changed it 4 times already

LOL, you know me, I like to experiment and I learn! So, two letters "js" makes a difference between 2.200.000 and 30.000! LOL, it was 3rd between 3ml... LOL

There are many fators to get Listed on SERP TOp 100 Google. As described on first reply I do agree

Gather backlinks thru directory and article submissions. Exchange links with quiality websites that has PR 3 and above. And lastly, optimize your site with your target keywords.

2 things: On-page optimization and Off-page optimization....

on-page:
-meta tags setup
-much better if your site is static and table less
-put all the the targeted keywords in the content and make them emphasize
-etc....

off-page: = link building
-directory submissions
-articles submissions
-promote the site
-link exchange with related but not direct competitors..
-etc...
