PageRank vs Position in Google
Is there a relationship between a site's PR rank and position in Google? Would one expect a site with a pr of 3 to have a good position in google for the seach phrase it was optimized for?
Thanks, JC |

Yes, there is a strong connection between PR and position in Google.
But not always higher PR means higher position. You can have web page PR=1 and still be on top of PR=5. It depends on many factors, such as design, contents - how often updated, meta tags etc. |

PR is directly related to SERPS, if anyone who tell you otherwise - they are simply lying.
It is not the only criteria though. PR is a measure of the popularity/importance of your site. To get a good SERP, your site must be important(high PR) and should have relevant content. So on site optimizations (like content/title) also matters. There are other parameters that affect the serps - like anchor text in backlinks, the age of your sites, nature and importnace of the sites lining to you and so on. PR is one important factor, but it is not everything. Hope this helps. |

It's OK to ask, don't worry, I have time.
I would say, a single page or two per month would be enough for a small web site. Time range when google considers your web site DEAD without being updated is about 6 months! I've lost 2 web sites like that from google search! But, still, I keep telling that You make web sites for people, not for google, so updates should be natural...use your imagination.... Good luck! |

Hi jcohen,
Well, if you website has some good factors like having good look and feel, have relevancy and better back links of the web pages. Then, it doesn't matter what's your PR is, it will definetly be increased by Google by time to time then..... PR is just a google constraint or a Page Importance.... Nothing is related with SERP's... |
