Contacting Google - bringing back banned site

Hi all ~

Anyone know a person or email address at Google I can contact about my site?

In the last Google update my site was wiped off the results list. I'm pretty sute why - I engaged in a serious link exchange program.

The thing is, I don't think it was a legitimate banning. All the sites I linked to are directly related to my business, and contact with those sites was made primarily to discover new business, NOT to engage in link exchanges.

I'd like to tell all this to Google, and hopefully get back in the index.

Any contact points would be *very* appreciated.

Thanks!

Well MicroDude,

My site was right at the top or in the first page for my keywords, and then, once the update completed, it's not even in the first 300 listings for those same keywords.

Also, if you type my company name in (which is an original name) it doesn't even show up until the 50th result. In fact, all the sites linking to ours come up first.

Clearly, this is the result of some penalty against my site.

Also - I run a simple touring company. Not an SEO, not an aggregator link site, I'm in a non web-savvy space with some local competitors (who by the was were completely unaffected in the latest update).

Any help would be appreciated - I just have no idea how to tell my story to Google and have things fixed up (if possible).

Thanks!

I hear you, but respectfully disagree. I would agree if I had dropped to the end of the relevant search results, but the fact is, I'm well WELL behind the valid search results, community sites, personal sites and junk link sites.

Something strange is going on.

Have you any idea of where I can make contact with Google? Any pointers?

Thanks!

Thanks. I would never have thought to look there.

I was hoping this would be a Google Community of people in the know interested in helping one another.

Does anyone out there have any good ideas?

You know why you were, apparently, banned - you engaged in a serious link exchange. Google has no obligation to include your site in their index.

We do help each other. However, if you want to know how you can artificially increase your PageRank by using link exchanges, you're in the wrong place. We won't encourage unscrupulous webmaster practices.

From Google.com
Quote:
Your page was manually removed from our index, because it did not conform with the quality standards necessary to assign accurate PageRank. We will not comment on the individual reasons a page was removed and we do not offer an exhaustive list of practices that can cause removal. However, certain actions such as cloaking, writing text that can be seen by search engines but not by users, or setting up pages/links with the sole purpose of fooling search engines may result in permanent removal from our index. If you think your site may fall into this category, you might try 'cleaning up' the page and contacting us with a re-inclusion request. We do not make any guarantees about if or when we will re-include your site.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the contact pointers.

You know, I hesitate to place myself among the ranks of the unscrupulous webmasters. I'm more of the 'didn't know any better' family.

Still, you gotta take your lumps.

Again, those contacts are much appreciated. Hopefully I can find someone at Google who can assist me.

Cheers!

I need help somebody??

My website got removed from google index and I have no idea why. Can someone take a look at it. I have done a lot of work with this site and had some nice PR sites pointing to it. Today morning when I typed my domain into google , it did not show up at all. I am very sad about this because I don't know what I did wrong and would like to find out so I don't make the same mistake or so I can bring back the site to the index. Can someone help me?? my site is at sellebookonline.com
