Birth of Google

Ah, some of you were around on the net during the beginnings of Google, some of us, including me, was'nt (I was like 8 when google first came out!)
So I was amazed when I saw the very site which started it all.

I found all of the following on the wayback machine.. it's an amazing archive of the internet. over 100 terabytes of stored websites.

Google.com
November 11, 1998
http://web.archive.org/web/199811111...://google.com/
December 02, 1998
http://web.archive.org/web/199812022...ww.google.com/

As you can see, Google released the Prototype of their search engine script. They also had a very interesting logo, a 'GOOGLE!" with an exclamation point.

You can go to:
http://web.archive.org/web/199901170...ww.google.com/
to view the weblog of Google.com from 1998 to the present, including every update.[/code]

That's so intriguing! Hee hee, something about that font makes me think it came out a lot earlier than 1998. *Laughs.* What an excellent website. ^_^

Thanks Configuration, that is very enjoyable. Those Stanford guys had a plan for sure. I use the wayback machine a lot. I'm using Firefox and they have an extension that you can use to enhance all of your searches, which includes the Wayback Machine. McSearchPreview 1.6 Google has come along ways in a short period of time. Good post and glad to have you here.

Thanks for the info but I already knew about it, as I have posted about it before, you wouldn’t know this unless you would have done a search but no worries as its always good to hear what new members have to say:
