Google SiteSearch

I'm having difficulty finding information on Google's Customizable SiteSearch.

When I try to register for the Customizable SiteSearch I get this error:

There are no pages in our index for "distillersgrains.org"*
* We cannot perform SiteSearch on this domain(s).
Please remove/change the domain(s)entered, or select WebSearch only, by leaving the domain(s) field blank.

And it's obvious that http://www.distillersgrains.org has pages in the index! Any idea why I can't go forward with this?

Also, (I'm just now taking over this site, excuse the crapiness) the goal is to have a directory full of word docs and pdfs that are archived by Google. When performing a site search, is there a way to specify the directory to be searched? (eg. I want results from distillersgrains.org/files/ only)

Thanks for your help!

distillersgrains.org seems to have only 6 pages indexed. Try using www.distillersgrains.org (with the "www.") and see what Google says then.

I can't get "Add URL to Google" to work

I've tried all my sites, and I keep getting an error on this page as well:

http://www.google.com/addurl/

Does anyone know what is going on with Google, or am I just doing something wrong.

Also, does anyone know how to search specific directories within a site?

no, the error is elsewhere.

I am having the same error with "safeena.org" though my site has 9930 pages in Google.

Check http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&l...rg&btnG=Search

It doesnt work at this time!

By google support:
custom sitesearch temporarily disabled for new sites.

That is going on for months, from my perspective :)

Check (there) again from time to time.
