How tell Google which page to show first on the results of my web-site?

Dear all,

Google shows one of my web-site pages on top of most search-results where my web-site exists.

The problem is that this is not the homepage of my web-site and I would not like this specific page to be on top. Is there any way to "tell" Google which page to show first?

Thank you in advance for your answer.

Best regards,
Emmanuel

you can't ask google to pick which page of your site you want to get on top... usually it happens because one of your page rank well on that particular keyword.. maybe try to promote more your homepage to get on top...

focus on promoting and building links to your home page with your targeted keywords... as lefty's said,, you can't ask what google will rank high in your page,.. but you can do something so that your homepage will be on top...

Try to promote your site using your homepage together with your targeted keywords. When the robots crawl your link, definitely it is the home page.

Yes you can tell Google which page to pick (sort off, they dont always listen)
You need to upload a Site map xml file, in this file you can set a priority for each page, so if Google wants to return a page in question it may display another based on your file.
The line looks like this <priority>1.0</priority> 1.0 being the highest and 0.1 the lowest.

Link to the xml file should be in your robots text as SITEMAP: at the top of the file.

Hope this helps.
