Biomimetic search engines

anyone heard of em. just ran accross an article on a goverment website http://www.lbl.govublications/Currents/archive/#story2 - seems cool in concept. Is Google doing anything like this? I noticed they also have a spellchecker thats doing a better job than google, or so they say http://geneva.lbl.gov/SpellChecker works ok.

geekerati is an unknown quantity at this point
Yes, thanks for sharing that. I have never heard GenoPharm or the Geneva Devel-opement System, but then again there is tons of things I haven't heard about yet.

Once an associative network surrounding a gene is generated, a separate database maps relevant diseases and therapies to each gene, creating an interlinking web of genes, diseases, and their therapies
Very interesting and should help a lot in speeding up the entire process from the old way of digging through all the documents like they mentioned. What a breakthrough for Cal-Berkeley!

We are literally mimicking the process of auto-association, which is a cognitive principle that describes how a human stores and recollects information,”
So they are actually creating computers that are intelligent. The coolest thing is that those great- talented Biologists can now concentrate on Biology, which will mean many more great things to come from them in the future, now that's exciting!

I'm gonna have to give that spellchecker a try and give you back some feedback on it as well. There is some really good posting going on in here today. You guys stay active, we need you. Thanks again
