erratic page ranking

Hi all,

the following pages, searched under the keywords Philip G Williamson, have always (for up to three years) displayed prominently on the first or second page. Recently they disappeared. Two days ago they reappeared, then disappeared again. Today they're still not visible at all again. Can anyone explain what's going on, and how it might be remedied?

The pages, on the hasweb.org website, are:

and it's happened again, since posting the above. This afternoon the pages reappeared. Three hours later, they're gone.

Does anyone have any idea?

The same thing has happened to me -top 10 for 4 years recently number 5 and relegated to the 4th page now. Page ranks on individual pages have disappeared and reappeared within hours. The domain index is not showing up in a search for mydomain.com. Can't seem to find any answers.
