If it is not an april fool it would be so cool.
I think I should apply for the job and see what they say.
I'm kinda surprised that I can't find any topics when I search for 'G.C.H.E.E.S.E' or 'Lunar' or even 'Moon'.
On April 1st 2004 Google has announced Gmail, but also the Google Copernicus Center. This is a Google base that will be built in the year 2007 on the moon. So Google is actually hiring guys to go there and live a couple of years in the base.
Here's the official page: http://www.google.com/jobs/lunar_job.html
This sounds so crazy cool btw.
Gmail wasn't a April fool, but is Google Lunar an april fool? I don't even know for sure yet, but I think it's not true.

Well you can buy land on the moon. Some people have been accredited with the authority to sell "property" located on the moon. It's possible that Google might've really bought some lunar space, but I doubt it.
Yes like these sites and many more that clame to sell acres of land on the moon.Originally Posted by Eric

I think that the article is google's approach to satire, or humour in its own way! Look at these sentences:Do you really think that google is aware of lunar residents?Google is firmly committed to using only earth-originated staffers and no jobs will be outsourced to lunar residents or those from other planetary systems unless the skill sets they offer cannot be easily replicated by native born terrestrials.
have i heard that software getting affected by atomospheric conditions?Simple computing exercises, such as building a list inverter become problematic when "up" or "down" are not clearly defined, and subroutines are disrupted when values increment six times faster than in Earth gravity.
we are only a year away from the coffeeThere will be a steady supply of snacks and ample caffeine replenishment through a partnership with Starbucks, which will be opening a store less than a kilometer away in early 2006.![]()
