Your own search engine?

Is it possible to make your own search engine like Google? I am just interested and would like to try something like it out.

Ofcouse you can make your own search engine. If one person can build it a second person can also built it (if that person has the right skills).

I wouldn't know how to build it though (I don't have the right skills ). Building a search engine probably requires a lot of programming. And that is something I don't know anything about.

Did a little search on google:

Build a search engine in perl: http://www.alistapart.com/articles/perl/
Build a search engine in php: http://moskalyuk.com/php/yourownsearchengine.htm
Build a search engine in c++: http://www.users.bigpond.com/concept.../SearcharooV1/

Don't know if they are much help, I haven't read them. I don't know anything about perl/php/c++. But perhaps you find them interesting to read

It has been my experience that "if you know how to do" something -- it is never very hard

If you guys only knew how much I needed a good laugh right now, so thanks. By the way, I never have that problem, I'm definetly not the sharpest tool in the box, many things seem hard too me.
