Microsoft working to improve office search
Microsoft is working on a newer search technology for its Office family of applications.
A company official said the new technology would allow users to easily find information stored on their hard drives. This includes documents, e-mails and data files. Microsoft is developing its own search technologies to challenge #1 web search provider Google, which is also reportedly working on a similar technology. These search advancements will allow faster and more relevant searches of information stored on personal computers. Office is Microsoft's second-largest division after Windows, offering a system of programs for business tasks. As a result, it generates and retrieves much of the information stored on computer hard drives. |
