Where does google get its IP location from for its results?
Hi there,
I was wondering if someone could provide a little advice on how google gets the information in regards to the IP address location that a site is connected to. We recently had an IP change from a UK based IP to other UK based IPs (recently assigned by RIPE). The site seems to have dropped out of the local search however. All is correct with the RIPE whois information (clearly showing as assigned to the UK), its reported correctly from other sites and other search engines do not seem to have the problem either, just google. I have contacted google support, no joy yet however. This is of course a serious problem and I would appreciate any guidance / support that anyone can offer. Cheers, Craig |
