How often does google update?

Hi I was wandering does anyone know how often google updates its directories? I have submitted my website www.customcubbies.com.au to the google directory when I first launched it, but the site software has been changed about 3 months ago. When you search for my site in google the small description that google shows is the content from my old site, how can I have this updated? Someone told me to remove my site from the directory and then resubmit it but I am not sure how to remove it, then I was told that it will just update itself but wandering how long this normally is?

google is using the odp listing for their directory you'll have to submit your site to dmoz.org on a specific category..or you can visit resource-zone.com, a dmoz forum.

Ok thanks I have already submitted to dmoz just waiting for them to add it, so what your saying is once it is added to dmoz it should also updat info on google?

dmoz will dump an rdf on the updated listing of the odp and if google will update their directory, your list will surely appear...
