Remove Button from Google Toolbar

It was incredibly easy to add the button to look up a definition to the Google Toolbar.

How do I remove it? I clicked help. That tells me how to remove buttons from IE toolbars but not from the Google Toolbar. It tells me how to remove the Google Toolbar itself, which I may just have to do to remove the unwanted button.

Please explain how to remove this button.

BTW, I thought it would give me access to a dictionary type application. Instead it gives me translation tools I do't want.

Never mind. I found my answer in Settings on the Google Toolbar. How counter intuitive.

I removed the button I had added but I can't remove some of the other buttons I'd like to get rid of.

Is it possible to remove the Bookmarks button? Don't know what that is. Don't use it. I think it might be a type of Favorites button, but how many favorites/bookmark buttons do I need?

Re:Remove Button from Google Toolbar

The option to remove the Bookmark button is under Settings also. Once you click on Settings then Options it should take you to the Features tab and you should be able to unclick Bookmarks and that should get rid of that button. As for the use of the Bookmark button, Google says, “You'll be able to access your Bookmarks menu on any computer with the new Google Toolbar installed. Note: this feature stores your bookmarks online, so you'll need to have a Google Account and be signed in to create and access your bookmarks.” So it can be very useful if you are trying to access your bookmarks from another computer, unlike the Favorites tab which you cannot access from another computer. Good luck!

how do I remove a button from Google toolbar

Before you begin to answer: I do not have anything called Settings.

Even when I move the Yahoo toolbar below the Google toolbar, instead of next to it where I prefer, there is nothing to click on on the far right. I just get the IE toolbar offerings, which include removing the entire toolbar, which I could do and then reinstall it, I suppose.

Another button, the spellcheck button, has an option to Hide Button if I right click on it, but the button I want to get rid of does not offer that option. I can add more buttons if I right click on the unwanted button, but I cannot remove it or hide it. The wrench gets me pretty much nowhere.

The button I want to get rid of is a blue ball (I understand from my extensive searching that the blue ball itself indicates a problem) that says Sign In. The blue ball arrived when I tried to get the Gmail icon. My envelope icon in the taskbar doesn't always open Gmail, so I thought perhaps a toolbar icon would be good. Wrong! Now I can't get rid of the thing.

I think you may have to UN install the google bar and then RE install it. That should get rid of the unwanted button.
