Dear Google or anyone.
We are a new company launching a web-based product based on Dr Jones' PhD "Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) for children." The applications are wide and range from blood tests (based on research in hospitals), educational issues which include examination stress, ADHD and helping children in their everyday environment. We have the support of medical staff and have undertaken an independent study on what mothers think about the product ... all of this has been very positive. I would be grateful for your advice or any suggestions you may have with regard to the most effective route to let people know we exist. The product will be ready in a week's time. Currently the product only works on broadband. We do not have any funding for marketing and our original fund has run out so we need to make this product sell to support future medical research for issues surrounding asthma, sickle cell disease and cancer support. Please contact me for a demonstration of the production and further information. Read below for background information surrounding the product and research. Thank you Mark Best email to get me on is: m@animalagentz.com Please note this all started out as my PhD that no one wanted to fund. Others (Dr, Mums etc) and I think this system should be there for children...then i won award etc. But the project still lacks funding..so here it is... Background: Dr Mark Jones has self funded and developed a series of learning products that help to reduce pain, fear and anxiety through CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy). The child appears to play with cartoon characters called Animal Agentz but each of these characters teach a unique CBT skill. The Animal Agentz behaviours are the following: breathing skills taught by a fish, stretching skills taught by a dog, distraction skills taught by a cat, guided imagery skills taught by a monkey and positive self statements taught by a lion. For example, if you tell a child to relax, the meaning is not understood. After using the Animal Agentz product the child can use relaxation actions which they have seen. Animal Agentz provides a series of supporting medical animations, aimed broadly at 4 to 11 year old children, to help them deal with a range of issues and stressful situations through an interactive media format, internet and also possibly DVD. The reality is that these skills are not taught for many reasons in hospitals and by medical doctors e.g. staff availability, time, skills etc. The product resolves these issues and can also be used at home. This is where the children themselves have asked to play with the Animal Agentz. We have been approached by medical doctors (UK and USA) to use the product for medical issues such as asthma, ADHD, injections (immunisation), sickle cell disease pain to palliative care (children with short life spans). Non-medical applications include examination nerves and bullying etc. I have received great support from the medical fraternity in the UK (references available from Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital & Bath University & National Health Service). The product is cost-effective and will save money for hospitals and general practitioners by reducing medical staff time and reduce the length of time spent in hospital. Parents like the product because they have a role to play, and empowers their child. The product is made so it could work in any language (English at present) and could be used as a way to standardising many medical methods for children around the world. The principles behind the way these coping skills; are delivered in the product form the basis of a UK (granted) and international patent application. Positive market research for the product was conducted at the London Business School. The product is free to hospices etc We are now (27 of April) on line but are oringal funding has now stopped. Please look at www.animalagetnz.com Thank you Mark Quotes on Animal Agentz: "This is perfect and what me and my family have been waiting years for. My 9 yr old has A.D.H.D and presents behavioural difficulties. His biological father rejected him a yr ago and this hasn't helped, his self esteem is very low and finds making new friends very stressful. The local social services tell me he needs therapy like this but are unable to provide it! I am having to pay a private therapist to help my son so when this comes in which I know would benefit many parents that I email, talk to etc then I can guarantee at least 15 sales for definite....where do I order!!!! Great idea and very user friendly, fab idea and so much needed for the 21st century where many children face daily struggles with little or no help and so they suffer. I am in 100% support of this stimulating and so much needed idea!" Mrs Garvey, East Yorkshire "I did these exercises with my daughter; she loved them and wants to play again." Mrs Rogers, Plymouth "This product is excellent and would also be beneficial to children with disorders such as ADHD. It would also be a great intro DVD for children who are about to be admitted to hospital as there was nothing like this about when my son had to go in for a heart op and it would have helped him no end." Miss Gooch, Norwich "I think it's an extremely good idea."Mrs Hirst, Eastbourne "Whilst doing this survey my son who is 7 and a type 1 diabetic came to watch and listen of his own accord; he really liked it." Ms Halden, West Midlands "Great idea as it is." Miss Hartley, Lancashire v"I looked at the video with my 6 yr old and she loved it." Mrs Reeves, Norfolk "This would be well received in schools." Mrs McFadden, Antrim "Responses from independent research conducted by Mum'sViews Ltd" Frequently asked questions: 1 ) Why is this product unique? Our product is unique - Research has shown that there is currently nothing quite like this product available in either the U.K. or elsewhere. The product uses individual characters to teach children coping skills by CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) in a user friendly, interactive manner. Applications: The Animal Agentz™ product has the potential to reduce a child's stay in hospital (as it allows treatment to progress faster because the user is calmer), thus freeing up beds in over-crowded UK hospitals and potentially saving the health service money in the long-term. CBT therapy normally involves about 12 sessions over two or three months and is often not available because of the costs to the NHS that this incurs (source: BBC Homepage, "Demand for NHS 'therapy network'" article, Tuesday, 22 November 2005). The Animal Agentz™ product provides a cost effective, long-term solution to this problem for child patients. Hospital issues The product overcome the following problems for hospitals. • Inconsistency in training techniques (effects: My solution) • Staff training • Staff knowledge • Staff and child's availability (time) • Lack (loss) of equipment • Lack of qualified staff (Play, Nurses, Dr) In addition it sets a Gold Standard for Childrens Health Care in CBT. Applications range from: Other suggested application have been for the medical and non medical applications Medical applications are Injections (immunisations), blood test, drips, other painful procedures Helping children with Educational problems: ADD, AHDA (attention hyperactivity disorder) for help with exam nerves etc Helping children sleep Management of pain (e.g. Cancer, Sickle Cell Disease pain: Drugs) Improved possible future medical events or reduction of possible phobias, such as dentist visits |
