Yahoo vs Google

eyyy guys,

Sorry, newbie I have the following "stupid" problem.

At my work people seems not to be pleased because their homepages do not appear in google (they are not found!). I thought that was a problem of webdesign, but if I do the search with Yahoo, the homepages do appear (!!!)...

Could somebody tell me what could be the reason for that and how to solve it?

thanks guyssss

Strange, how long have these homepage(s) been up? and are they not hosted on yahoo/geocities by any chance! if they are new the google crawler might be still on its way there. I have added new sites before and it took an avearge of only abt 3 days for them to appear so i wouldn't understand why those homepages are not appearing.

do you have an example that you can post to us?

no

i say yahoo email is a bit better, but gmails not bad. as a rogers member i get 3GB of storage, and i remember when i had dwig366@yahoo.ca i had 2GB for a long time before gmail started, so maybe i was just lucky or something. GMail used to be 1GB, as you can see from the screenshot on the ABOUT GMAIL page.

I'm currently using 765 MB in my Gmail account. So Yahoo could have worked for me (at 1 GB), but not for much longer. I use Gmail, however, for the search functionality. It's a lifesaver.

Sorry for going off-topic You might want to make sure you're not blocking Googlebot in your robots.txt file (if applicable). Otherwise, Google just takes time to reach the site. Add your URL to Google here.
