sex sites appear at the top of google search results

I guess the heading says it all .. i've noticed that almost always (but not always) when i search on almost anything in google the first five or so results display sex-related sites; then the genuine results follow.

How is this happening and how can i get it to stop?

perhaps you were searching also for a related site.

Either that, or you may have had your PC/Browser hijacked. I recommend running Spybot S&D. Also, use Firefox if you're not already.
