Focused Searching

I do considerable searching through a directory (M containing 2,000+ PDF files. My computer had 9 partitions within 3 physical hard drives, containing ~95,000 files, excluding the external hard drive. A desktop search always searches my complete environment, when all I want is what the search finds in my external hard drive.

Is there a way within Google Desktop to ordinarily focus the search on a specific directory (folder) or hard drive?
