Only a few indexed pages... why?

Hello!
I would like to understand why i have only 16 pages cached over a total of about 160 pages of my website...

Each and every page is reachable as they are correctly linked one another thru HREF tags (no flash links), that's because i red somewhere that Googlebot needs all the pages to be linked one another to deeply scan my website... the problem is that Googlebot never came back visiting my website in 2 or 3 months now (i can see this thru my web/browsers stats...).

I already submitted twice my URL but, except a visit in the early days of new life of my website, Googlebot never visited my site again...

What can i do now?

Thanks for any suggestion that you may have for me!

Do you have a sitemap?

Do you use Google Sitemap?

Those are 2 unique items you can use to make sure your site gets indexed.

The Google sitemap will get your entire site indexed in a few hours.

But, you should still have a regular sitemap for all the other search engines and your users as well.

I have an article here on that topic:

How to Create a Google Site Map

hi seo!
thanks for your reply!
yes, today i uploaded a sitemap and it's been correctly verified by Google (about 3 hours ago).
i did a check by using the "site:www.mydomain.com/" syntax but all i get is about 15 results only, maybe Google still haven't updated its cache based on my sitemap.
Anyway, i red on the Sitemaps help, that Sitemaps doesn't influence pages indexing... can you confirm this?
What concerns me it's the fact that Googlebot did 1 scan only of my site, while other sites gets at least 1 visit each 1 or 2 weeks... why?
Any further suggestion?
Thanks for your help and patience!

Here's the lowdown on Google and it's bots.

The freshbot crawls your popular pages on a frequent basis - for some sites like Amazon it crawls the site every 10 minutes: on less popular sites, it may only come once every 2 weeks.

What happens on the freshbot crawls is that it finds any new links and indexes them.

When the once-a-month deppbot comes, it will then crawl each page that the freshbot found.

That's why once you get the sitemap in place, you need to give it about a month to see the impact.

Hope this helps!
