Hi

From time to time, google has a changed logo, with no explanation of why. Is there anywhere I can find out what the new logo means ?

What do you mean? The seasonal logos?
There are sometimes also other 'special occasion' logos, but there's usually an explanatory link on the same page (or found by clicking the logo, itself).
You can also look over their archives:

Thanks for the link to the logo library. But what does today's mean. They show some cartoon characters. I should know them, but who are they ? And why them today ?

Well, if you click on the logo you see http://www.google.com/doodle10.html

And Google every once in a while does a comic strip of a sort of their logo which depicts a story and in this case, the cat and mouse are trying to plug the Google logo in however the cord is too short.

Yes, it isn't always immediately obvious what they are. There has been a thread in the Chat forum about this one since the first of the series, which was just a mouse opening a door in the logo.
I don't think these are 'known' characters that you're supposed to recognize.

These are the "logos" I have been referring to the many times I have posted about my inability to have these logos appear on MY Google page. Nobody has addressed this enigma or even answered me satisfactorily, and I have posted several times!! I have a Mac os x Tiger, and use Safari with DSL. Am I just not computer capable to access these changing logos? Does anyone have an explanation and solution?

Does that things bothers you a lot? they wont changed that if there's no special occasions. Why don't you Google it and see for yourself? kidding! anyway, friend, there a reason behind every logo of Google.
