Google Toolbar Options Window problem

I am using Firefox 1.5. Recently I installed Google Toolbar for Firefox. Now when I start Firefox, I get the Google Toolbar Options Window everytime. It shows various options including Enable/disable PageRank and the Toolbar Privacy Policy. No matter what options I choose, the Options Window always appears whenever I start Firefox. How do I get rid of the Options Window? Thanks.

Have you tried reinstalling the extension?

Thanks for replying. What extension do you mean? Are you saying to uninstall Google Toolbar and then reinstall it?

You could try that.
Also, make sure you aren't blocking/deleting the Google cookies that 'remember' the settings.

Now I am really confused. How can I be blocking/deleting the Google cookies? Also I looked in Control Panel to see if I could delete Google Toolbar but don't see it as one of the choices. Thanks.

I don't use the stand-alone toolbar, so I don't know about the uninstall options. Check the options menu in the toolbar, itself. There should be one there.

[Edit: Okay, ignore that previous bit. I didn't know that it installed as an extension.]

The toolbar cookie options are dependant on those you've set in Firefox.
I mentioned deletion, as sometimes people run automated history cleaners and privacy programs that could do this.

The google toolbar is an extension. Just go to the Tools>Extensions and uninstall it from there. Then once it's uninstalled (restart of the browser and all), go and install it again.

I got rid of the Google toolbar - I just have Google and Gmail as two of my bookmarks - increases browsing space significantly.

Now, that's something that would be hard for me to do. I've spent years in the habit of popping up there for something a few times a day.
I'd feel like I was missing a finger, or something (although somewhat less painful and messy).

Depending on how you use the toolbar and how you have the other toolbars arranged, you can have features such as the spell-checker and page rank place anywhere in the toolbars area since each little icon can be moved anywhere.
