Sitemap error message

When I try to access my Google sitemap I get the following error message:

Invalid at the top level of the document. Error processing resource 'http://www.endangerous.com/sitemap.xml'. Line 1, Posi...

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>

I copied the code from another website's sitemap and substituted my own information, and I saved it as UTF-8 encoding. Did I miss something? Could the problem be with my server?
