403 & 404 error

Hi Guys

I am having regular occurences of the "page not available or your request is similar to a virus" which is displayed as a 403 or 404 error message. I asked around and it seems as though there is more than me getting this error.

Can anyone tell me if it's a problem with my setiings or is this an issue with google.

When i get this error i can go straight to Yahoo and get the site without any problems.

Thanks for your help guys
regards Cremora

Hi Cremora, you are getting this message below, right?
We're sorry...

Quote:
... but we can't process your request right now. A computer virus or spyware application is sending us automated requests, and it appears that your computer or network has been infected.
We'll restore your access as quickly as possible, so try again soon. In the meantime, you might want to run a virus checker or spyware remover to make sure that your computer is free of viruses and other spurious software.
We apologize for the inconvenience, and hope we'll see you again on Google.
I think this happens when many people are trying to access the same thing (URL) and Google thinks it might be some form of attack. You can renew/release
IP address
and try again.
Quote:
# 403 (Forbidden). This is a sort of catch-all refusal. If the server understood the request but, for whatever reason, refuses to fill it, a code 403 will often be returned. The server may or may not explain why it is sending a 403 response and there is not much you can do about it.
# 404 (Not Found). If you happen to mistype a URL or enter an old one that no longer exists this is the error you will likely see. The condition may be temporary or permanent but this information is rarely provided. Sometimes code 403 is sent in place of 404.
HTTP Return Codes

It never hurts to run a scan with your AV and Spyware, but it is probably something on Google's end. I've had this several times in the past. Hope this helps.

Are you by any chance using a limited user account?

Also, just restarting your connection to the Internet may help.

Another thought, last time I got that message there was a turning number to enter to make sure it was a human, if you get a turning number. Enter the number and then you'll have access again.

Go back to your TCP/IP settings and make sure they are set to "server assigned" and try again.

Please read

Sorry for the delay.
