Interesting redesign of Google

Interesting... http://www.andyrutledge.com/googleredux_example.html

What would you think if Google designed its home page like something similar to the link above? Design by Andy Rutledge

It's a nice design, but Google's simplicity is what makes it stand out against all the other directories on the internet. IMO it is part of their image that they deliberately keep their site as simple as possible.

The link doesn't work any more. He took off the full size image 'due to bandwidth problems'. :P
This link does work:

Yeah, I like the design of that page too! Seems stylish and clean enough, and different shades of blue and white just fits it just right!

I like Google the way it is, but a slight change now and again would be welcome.

Google makes plenty of slight changes - they redesign their logo to incorporate a recent event all the time.

I don't think Google would change their default design though because simplicity is one of the things which makes Google great.

It's nice, but I don't like the redesign. Simpler is better. The links at the bottom feel uneven. The blue bar on top seems pointless.

When I saw it the logo was this one! Personally, I like the original look better.
