The Size of Google's Index is About 25,270,000,000 Pages

This isn't a stat that anyone pays attention to, but I thought I'd post it because it's not immeidately obvious; Google doesn't have it on their homepage anymore. Also, a simple search for * doesn't seem to work.

Apparently, it was the result of a search for "* *" (without the quotation marks, of course).

Every time I try that, though, I get a different result. (All quite a bit lower.)

I only asked the question because the first post states that it was NOT a simple search for "*" or "* *".
