According to a statement issued yesterday by the Electronic Frontier Foundation, Google Desktop ain't what it seems. A new feature of the application now records the contents of your hard drive, storing actual copies of your files -- including Word documents, PDFs, and spreadsheets. Concern about the new "Search Across Computers" feature arises out of the possibility that making such files available to Google opens users up to severe invasion of privacy, not only from hackers, but from government surveillance as well.

VadimLlya if you have an issue with a member of staff please firstly contact that member of staff and ask for more details on why the thread was locked, from what I see the thread was locked for an appropriate reason, we don't tolerate the breaking of rules.

If you however you do not get a detailed reply from that member of staff though I'm sure you would have got one please contact an admin so we can discuss your situation in personal.

I have unlocked this thread, for the moment, to inform you that I locked your other thread, not Randy, and for the very good reasons stated.
As for this 'proof' that you are so excited about, it had already been posted by another Google Community staff member, in the appropriate forum.

I really don't care what your opinions are, about Google, or anything else.
Follow the forum rules. Or go find some other place to grind your axe.
