Getting listed in DMOZ

I did not expect it but they listed one of my sites on their own. On the other hand yahoo dir listed my other site (in the sig) in less then a month (I only submitted it). Whats the catch now?

It's expected that any large directory will have a percentage of dead links or sites that have changed content and are no longer listable. Have you browsed Yahoo's directory lately? At least with Dmoz, everyone can bring to Dmoz's attention any unlistable domains by using the update URL link.

How can you prove that an honest person is honest? That's a stupid question. You're making these allegations so prove them to be true, not the other way around. So, where's the proof, besides offering advice that will get people's sites permanently banned? Again, you can't offer the proof.

So, again, how are you guaranting a Dmoz listing? Are you paying someone, or are you foolish to believe that all, or most editors, accept bribes? If so, then PROVE IT. Don't believe everything you read on other forums by unscrupolous ex-Dmoz editors. Remember, many are *removed* ex editors.

It's explicitely stated within Dmoz's editor guidelines: Any editor taking money for a listing will be removed as an editor. Again, re-read the example I gave you. But what is also true is that there are lots of people who follow the rules but still no DMOZ listing and no DMOZ answers. What is also true is that the rules itself in DMOZ are not straight to the point.

Bottom line is... dmoz submission services provide the alternative opportunities for those grey areas of DMOZ itself

You should really stop giving bad advice. I'd never hire you or your services - not unless I want my site permanently banned. You're not worth the money and you're too unethical to trust.

The official Dmoz blog has a recent post about why your site isn't listed yet. It also mentions that offering a bribe to a Dmoz editor means a permanent ban on your site. The posts are written by AOL/Dmoz staff.

In case you don't know, AOL owns the Dmoz directory, so the Dmoz staff are also AOL employees who are working with the directory on frontend/backend, pr, and marketing initiatives as it pertaines to the directory.

I never got pass the DMOZ test for any of my site..
