Getting listed in DMOZ

Take a look over at Resource-Zone and see all the posts started by people who were turned down because they didn't disclose all their affiliations. Some were even asked not to apply again. The category might need help, but they're not going to accept just anyone, because that anyone could actually do more damage to that category that someone else might have to spend time cleaning up. If you find sites that are dead or don't belong in the category, then you can use the update URL link at the top of the page where it's listed to report them. Updates are handle quicker than regular site reviews.

Yeah, oh well, its over now and all I can do it wait it out I suppose. I figured that being truthful with them would show good intentions but I guess not.

Be patient! Getting listed in DMOZ is not easy. Need much opportunity to get listed there.

PI don't think its hard getting listed in DMOZ I submitted a few months ago & I searched for my web site and it was there straight away...

It all depends on the category you're trying to submit to.
Usually regional categories are easier because they have less submissions, but I have 2 sites waiting for over a year now for more general categories.

Very true... but how do you tell wich category A site is listed in?

Dmoz had a major server crash on Oct. 20th. They've restored the data, fixed most of the major bugs, and now they're in the process of waiting for the main machine to beefficiently backed-up. The estimated time is sometime this week, but I wouldn't hold my breath for it; none of the other estimated times panned out.

To see if a site is listed and in which category just search for your site on Dmoz without using the WWW .
