Search Engine Status

I submitted my site months ago and am still waiting for google to crawl it.

The only way someone can find my site is to type in the exact address (LOL)

Suggestions?

Have you tried submitting it to other search engines as well? That might help get you noticed...

Is the site reachforthenet.com ? A link in your signature is an excellent first step. Once you've done that, give Google 3 months or so to get you in the index.

Google does not seem to take 3 months, it crawls my site everyday and new sites that I add, appear in a week. I am so impressed in the speed of which google indexes sites!

Mine own engine takes ages!

Lets take this a wee bit further. Putting your URL into a forum is all you need to do. But certain forums have different SE's that make regular crawls. The easiest way by far to find this out is to do what Burf.com has just done, he's followed me here by regulary checking "ctabuk" in any SE search box - find a users name who you admire and see where else they post, then follow suit. Always use the same user name.

Thanks!

I also submitted my site to Google Sitemap. I'm hoping this is another step in the right direction.

I am a newbie. It is discouraging to know how long it may take to get indexed by Google.

I am trying to do the "link in signature" mentioned above. But I can't have html in my signature. Anyone know how to turn it on?

Thanks.
