Tim Winton's The Riders

Recently for my school english course, i have been reading a tim winton book entitled "The Riders". the story describes a young man, Fred Scully, who is, at the start of the book, describing how his life has just now become "good", or organised. Later on, this "perfect life" which he describes is shattered and for the rest of the book he tries to recover what he can of it.
