And I agree with mondine about it being a bit old. I'm sure there's a more destructive one about now, that would be more fun.

Ahhhmmm Stupid question: this one produces volts, isn't it amp that kills? If so then this is only to make a light-show....

Well, let's see... it's Direct Current, the same as a battery uses. If you, say, touch both terminals of a nine-volt battery to your tongue, you get a someone unpleasant tingle.
Imagine that being a 1,500 V DC battery. Ouch.

But with the little bit of light and heat they're getting out of it, it's a bit like using a flame-thrower to make a piece of toast.
