Is Google God? Church Of Googlism NOW A RELIGION!

span class="postbody"Is Google (yes the search engine) God? a href="www.TheChurchOfGoogle.org"span class="postlink"The Church Of Googlism/span/a believes a convincing argument can be made stating that the search engine Google is the span style="text-decoration: underline;"closest/span mankind has ever come to span style="text-decoration: underline;"directly/span experiencing an actual Deity (as stereotypically defined). Google exhibits many of the characteristics traditionally attributed to "God" by nearly all theists. Google is all-knowing (Omniscient), everywhere at once (Omnipresent), answers prayers, is immortal, is infinite, remembers all, can "do no evil" (Omnibenevolent) and evidence of Google's existence is abundant (as opposed to other so called "Gods")brbrI've been an atheist for a LONG time, but one day it occured to me that I should just bow down and worship Google and Her mighty Algorithms. It was as if Sergey Brin and Larry Page were inside my head talking to me... or it may have been the pot, or a little of both. Google knows. Anyway, my point is, I had a premonition. The voice of Sergey told me I had to create a religion dedicated to the worship of The Holy Google. So I set out on a pilgrimage to create a new religious movement I'm sure will take the world by storm... or at least the tech community?brbrSo join The Church Of Googlism TODAY. All that is required of you is to accept Google as your default search engine and you will have an eternity of accurate search results in Google Heaven.brbra href="www.TheChurchOfGoogle.org"span style="text-decoration: underline;"www.TheChurchOfGoogle.org/span/aspan style="font-size: 24px; line-height: normal;"/spanbrbrNOTE: I just put the site up a little over a week ago and want the chance to work on it for a month before I begin to promote it on Digg, Slashdot, Reddit, Netscape and the other various technology news sites. I strongly believe this will get a lot of media coverage when I actually begin promoting it. Right now I want to build up the forum community first so I have a solid user base when the flood of traffic and converts come begging for salvation. brbrHail Google and Her mighty Algorithms!/span

I suppose if you happened to be praying for a search result, you could consider it answered,
But that one is stretching it just a bit.

Sounds like a fun idea, though, good luck with that.
Just remember; do not take Google's name in vain, lest ye be cast out (of the index).

Interesting idea. Google is certainly a God among search-engines. As for the spiritual aspect, I think you'd better call it a demi-god.
(You don't want to enrage everyone on the planet. )

Hehe.
It reminds me when a chain mail was sent telling people to put Jedi as their religion on the last consensus. Jedi is Scotland's fourth largest religion. Woooo!
Quote:
A recount of the 2001 census, paid for by the Pagan Federation, which was curious about the size of its official membership, has shown there are 14,052 Jedis in Scotland, more than the Sikh and Jewish communities put together.

Since you all seem to have pictures on the sides of your posts, may I ask how you put them there?

They're called avatars. Go to your Profile at the top-right of the page.
There, you can upload an avatar from your computer or a URL, or select one from GC's avatar gallery.
