PC System Guide

Just for fun, I wanted to post what Arstechnica considers the most 'bang for your buck' at three levels of computing:
I would be proud to own the budget box!

Would you just look who's here, I'm happy that you're back!! We need your presence in these forums.

I wish I could buy it for you too, my friend. I don't even want to try and run a total cost for that beauty.

It's great having you around again, cvrk3!

The price for the GodBox class of computers is just...insane. I wouldn't dish out that much for a computer, ever. I'm happy with my 256 MB of RAM for now.

How are you liking the 64 bit CPU? I almost sprung for one earlier this week. The price was right! They have some incredible barebones powerhouse packages from time-to-time. I didn't do it because the form factor was Micro ATX.

Everything else I have is similar except the cpu which is an Intel Pentium 4 not a AMD.

Hmmm, then it's probably doesn't have 64-bit ciphering and memory addressing capabilities either.
For casual use, a regular computer with a Pentium IV processor is more than enough. Hell, Pentium IIIs work decently for people even today.
