asking about Gmail notifier and MS outlook with Gmail

This topic is completely different to the last one I posted to this forum. And it is not worth to search all messy topics in all forum of google community just to solve my very small problem.

So I want to ask more, hoping that I can make some contribution to this forum in terms of content of the thread and culture variety

My Questions are:

1. In my point of view, Gmail notifier is to notify its user that he is obtaining new emails in Gmail webmail. But the fact that I am still notified that there are new emails though I read it already in MS outlook. What is the problem?

2. How to do with MS outlook 2003 to ensure that all emails I read in MS outlook do not appear in Gmail Notifier at all?

3. Besides, I once had to suffer from using dial up with very very slow speed in Vietnam ( around 56Mbps)
I set up gmail to my MS outlook successfully but completely failed to send and receive emails. The processes of sending and receiving were interupted by internet transmition as far as I know. So my QUESTION is that:
Does Gmail work well with MS outlook 2003 with the downloading speed of 56Mbps?

Thank you,
I am waiting for your kind replies and hope to see them soon
Hai

The reason the Notifier still notifies you about new e-mails, even though you read them in Outlook, is because the e-mails in Outlook are actually stored on your computer, while Notifier checks the e-mails on the actual Gmail account.

If you're going to download the e-mail to your computer instead of browsing your Gmail through the web site, you don't need to use the Notifier. There's supposed to be a way to turn it off, but I'm not at home, so I can't check to make sure I'm right.

I suggest that you use Mozilla Thunderbird for e-mail instead of MS Outlook.

I already answered your question, if a moderator feels like moving it to the Gmail forum, he can go ahead without any trouble.
