Divining

Ever wanted to locate water or gas pipes, electricity or phone cables?
Here's a way of doing it with no digging or specialised equipment.
Cut two 450mm lengths of wire (coat hanger or fencing wire).
Bend a 90 degree "handle" about 100mm long on one end of each piece.
Hold a handle in each hand firmly (not tight) so that the wires are pointing
straight ahead.
Walk over the area you suspect the pipe/cable may be.
When you cross the pipe/cable, the wires will turn & cross each other, indicating
the location & direction of pipe/cable. No indication of depth is given.

The good old divining rods never realised they could be used for this purpose.

99% accurate too, Zeb. Try it yourself, it's very easy.
