Two sites same content. Is this a problem?

Hi guys,
I started a website two years ago to front my company Touch Screen Solutions for Estate Agent | Auctioneers Window Display Marketing in Ireland | Through glass| Vendor increase. I mainly do software for touchscreens but am also interested in doing other types of software also for database management. Later I got a really good URl http://touchscreens.ie which represents that part of my business very well but it is not the ideal URL for my database software.
Currently I have nearly the exact same content on both site.
Is it true that Google can penalise you for this and even bar you?

yes that could be a problem.. you could be penalized or banned from sites...

Two sites should be in different content..it might become a spam if the two are the same..

Yep... theres your problem right there. DUPLICATE CONTENT...

Why do you need two sites with the same content on it?

You should really combine them into one, and delete the other.

You should turn of them into a product page and the other one a service page. Something that would make them different from each other. There is no need to have two of the same site, it will only make things harder.

it might harm your site for duplicate contents.

Duplicate contant is a very big problem, just hire a copywriter to re write one of them for you... shouldent cost much.

yeah... you should not place the same contents in different belonged sites...try to separate them...for more info, you can do some Google search for more guidance as well...

Having two sites with the same content can be penalized or be banned...I think you should change the content of the your other site or combine it as one.
