Have you ever encountered a "famous individual"?

So far, I think I've met five, and from the top of my head, I can remember four: Bill Gates, Harrison Ford, David Bowie and Elton John. I've also met another person, but I forgot who it was.
The only person I am glad to have been able to meet is David Bowie. It was after one of his concerts in Norway. The rest of the people I've met are non-persons in my book.

EDIT:
Gosh, I'm an ediot. Indiana Jones rules. Harrison Ford is in no way a non-person, he is a true daredevil and a very down-to-Earth person. I'm an Indiana Jones fan so I wonder what I was smoking when I wrote this. I should've read my post twice over.

Wow you're lucky. I've met one that was before our time in Hockey, Ted Lindsay. He is my great uncle, so I guess it doesn't count, but he's the only famous person I've ever met. I would like to meet Bill Gates though, and even more, Sergey Brin.

How dare you call Indiana Jones a non-person!?

Oops, sorry I didn't notice I also included Harrison Ford in my list. I only meant that I didn't care about meeting Bill Gates and Elton John. They basically look like twins. Time to edit my post!
Oh yeah, I remember the fifth person now. It was a Japanese pop idol named Gackt. Full on wanker. He's crazy and eccentric. He claims to be from 16th century Norway. Super weirdo.
Anyways, I wrote on what I gathered about Bill Gates quite some time ago on another forum. If anyone is interested, I can copy-paste it from a .txt file I saved the post on.

I'd be interested in seeing what you have gathered on him.

Glad to see you like Indiana Jones

Here you go, Justin:
Quote:
Bill Gates isn't all that bad as some people imagine him to be, but you can't really know someone just by having a single conversation. Though, you can get an accurate impression. He was open-minded and I asked what the best OS was in his opinion and he said it was Windows 2000(READ: He said this after Windows XP was released!), which he was using at home. I asked him about his opinion on Linux and other UNIX-based obscure operating systems and he said that he uses the Mandrake distribution of Linux along with various BSD variants and derivatives for corporate work involving temporary servers. He also said that he used Sun Microsystems' Solaris OS, and according to him, it had potential to oust the BSDs, but bad decisions on Sun Microsystems' part lead to the operating system's market flop. To sum it all up, he wanted to say that he thought that Linux and other UNIX clones were actually good and that he uses them.
Not much, eh.
There aren't many "famous" people I want to meet now, as most of them are dead. There are a few comedians that I'd love to meet. I don't really prize autographs, since I have no intention to show off.
I'm happy with just meeting David Bowie.

I haven't met any famous people, I have seen plenty of them though (although they are all famous Dutch people, they are probably not internationally famous). Famous people don't interest me, they are just people like all of us. Being famous is no reason for me to want to meet them, I don't even know them. But that might be just me
