New Blog Network - Seeking Bloggers
Hey Googlites,
I'm not sure if this is the right place for this, but I'm certain one of your capable mods will step in if not. My oldest site online is the one I started in 1995, WorldVillage.com. The site has PR 7 and Alexa around 11,000. We get a lot of traffic and I've decided to start leveraging that traffic for a new feature. We've just launched a new blogger network where writers can earn a share of AdSense revenue on all articles submitted. The WorldVillage Blogger Network (WVBN) is a family-friendly blog network. http://blog.worldvillage.com We are looking for new bloggers to join up and write at least one article/week in their area of expertise. You can submit up to one article/day. Bloggers get a photo and bio section, which can contain up to 6 outbound links to other sites. Finally, Bloggers may include their AdSense publisher code and receive approximately 50% of the AdSense impressions on their articles. You can also set up a channel to track the number of impressions and how much you earn through the site. Obviously, this is going to take a couple months to ramp up, but I suspect those who blog early will reap the greatest rewards! If you are interested, you can apply on the site. Scroll to the bottom of the page and you'll see a link. I just fired this up last week and have signed 50 bloggers so far. So we're off and running! Joel |

Cool. I had thought of doing something very similar. I know about.com does something like this for their editors but its really tough to get in and stay on. You have to increase your visitors by a certain percentage every month so its cool to see a place that will let you get some dollars direct from the ads with less requirements. I'll have to check it out for sure

It looks like an interesting idea. I thought about doing something similar, but I don't have the kind of leverage you do.. PR 7, wow! And to have a website from 10 years ago.. I don't think the webpages I created in 1996 are around anymore.
I'm not sure why it's "approximately" 50%. I guess you just give us a 50% probability of having our publisher code inserted; which is reasonable, if you provide the promotion, etc. I submitted my application, but I wasn't sure if the writing sample was supposed to be related to my blog topic. I inserted some writing that is unrelated |

It's going to take a couple months to really ramp it up, but I am pretty excited about the whole thing. I don't see why we shouldn't share the AdSense revenue. I say "approximately 50%" because the code is written to swap out publisher codes with every page view. No system is perfect, but this should work fairly well.
Is there a better forum on the site to post this so that more people who would be interested might see it? Joel |
