In some forums the use of direct links is strictly prohibited, and in several of them that behaviour is an invitation to a ban. To avoid this, people use different ways of posting the links in a non direct way using "hxxp", "h**p", etc. expressions...

In this concrete case, I suppose the link has a "hxxp" because it if a *.pdf document, and many people prefer opening it locally in the hard disk (after downloading it) rather than "suffering" it while it loads and opens via web.

Sometimes the scripts used by forums are configured to change the spelling of determined words and/or expressions...
