Avatars for GoogleCommunity...

Hi,
I have been wondering how people got avatars... most of them look like their over the KB limit... I made an avatar myself which is 80x80 and I saved it as a JPG file which is the only file I can associate it with on GoogleCommunity... When I tried to upload it, it said I was over the KB limit... Orpheus or however his name is spelled... He got one that is animated and should be over the KB limit which I think is 25KB or lower... I don't really know... so... If you can tell me how to get my avatar on there which is about more than 25KB please tell me... Thank You!!

First of all, it can only be 6kb. Secondly, if you want a bigger avatar, you will need to upload it yourself on a website or something. The limit is only placed on if you upload it to googlecommunity.com. Use webpost.net or photobucket to upload your avatar if u want a bigger one.

Look, I have my signature and avatar on my website. So i didnt have to upload it into Googlecommunity. Because of the limit i couldnt.

Yeah Orpheus is right, get your own webspace, or sign up for a free image host...i host my images on my own server

Felman, don't just post "yep" that's useless.

My avatar for 18 forums is hosted on my server so I can change it whenever I want without going through each and changing it manually (though there are a few that store them on their own servers, like SitePointForums)

For the sake of load speeds, I suggest you don't have something like 300kb as your signature. As that takes an entire second to load.

You feel that's useless (and many of us agree with you), but he doesn't think so as he declared he was going to see how many diferent posts he can have.

I was sort of getting fed up with my avatar, so I went to my profile and I saw: "select avatar from the gallery". You never know, maybe there's a cute avatar in the gallery....

The gallery is empty

That doesn't work, so I guess I better start looking around for a new avatar to use. (Yea, I should have known that the easy way doesn't work all the time)

yea another good host is 250free.com you can host your site and everything there. you also get the choice if you want to hotlink or not. obviously you would want to hotlink them if you want to use them here in google community.
