School Rules

The school which I go to is very annoying with it's school rules. There are some which really need updating:
e.g.
- Hair is not allowed to be more than about three inches long and not allowed to be cropped either. This leaves a bit of a dilemna...how can people express their individuality if everyone looks the same!....it's like it's almost communist or something.
- Blazers must be worn all the time...this may not be a problem for some areas, but if it's in Glasgow then you have a problem...neds (antisotial yob youths if you don't know what they are) throw stuff at pupils and pick on people just because of the uniform. People also get mugged and attacked etc...
- Ridiculous punishments: Suspension for wearing the wrong colour of scarf if you're a girl or having hair dyed etc...very annoying! Two of my friends recently received detentions for playing noughts and crosses after finishing their work.

Please cast your vote to show whether you think this is unfair or not!

Wow, at my school, if your wearing the full school uniform and a non-school cap. you're considered a outsider and there for get kicked out of the grounds and told to 'go home and come back with proper school uniform' ie take off the hat.

lol funny.
Anyway, we didn't have any school uniform in Sweden. It is basically an unknown concept there.

mondine is an unknown quantity at this point
There's not a chance in hell that this would have been tolerated in the school I went to. But, then again, I went to school in a very different time and place.
It was Canada, and it was the 70's. Having long hair and walking out in protest was the 'normal' thing to do.
Halfway through highschool, we got a 'tougher' principal who would send kids home for wearing overtly obscene t-shirts. Such things as were popular in those days,
like a cartoon of geese copulating in mid-air, with the caption of "Fly United". Or pigs, with "Makin' Bacon". You get the idea.
Then again, it was an odd decade, probably best forgotten.

As I'm in sixth form our rules are a little different to the rest of the school, but, if we do something bad, we are out. If we don't turn up, we are out

Can't hit anyone in the year below us either, which kinda sucks when it comes to the chavs.

IMO, these rules aren't unresonablr per se, the only problem I see is the second one, but not with the rule itself - the school, or some offcials should make sure you're safe.
As for the rest...well, personally I couldn't stand them, but...if you don't like how it is in that school, go to another one...

Im in fourth year so i've problably got another two years there! Luckily in sixth year the rules are slightly relaxed and there is a special sixth year common room for them to use (with playstation 2s etc)

You can't go to another school? Look that's the only way rules will ever change - if they'll see people don't want to go to their school.
