Broken, I'd have to say if you believed it were true, you'd have to be mighty gullible.

I don't think that article has one sane idea...

Fun? None whatsoever.
Gullible? Yes.
Misleading? Definately.

This page from Snopes (Urban Legends Reference Pages) debunks the KFC mutant chicken horror:
http://www.snopes.com/horrors/food/kfc.htm

When in doubt, check with Snopes

Btw Randy, I'd appreciate it ifs you'd send that link to whoever had sent you the article and ask them to send that link to whoever who sent them the article. Think of it as reverse chain-mailing. Instead of passing around misleading e-mail, send a correct and factual article back to the sender and ask the sender to do the same thing to the sender. You'd be doing them a favour in elightening them...

[Edit]:
Found another link: http://www.unh.edu/BoilerPlate/kfc.html

This article debunking the urban legend was written by the University of New Hampshere themselves!

Is it even possible for a life to be sustained in that manner?

That is one of the hallmarks of hoaxes. *The article is written in a way that's so incredible/unbelievable/disgusting that it tosses all rationality out of the window. In an attempt to throw in some credibity by including "researched by University of Total B.S." has convinced quite a number of people that it's true. The alert ones will notice that there's actually no proof to back that up, as it doesn't include links to news/research sites.

Back to your question Ashley, no it isn't possible for life to be sustained in that manner. We're years away from that.

If we take consideration into the cost of the equiptment and reseach of the frankenchicken alone, it would bring down the entire KFC coorperation! You'd need millions of dollars of high-tech equiptment and millions of research hours in making something close to that. (See *) It wouldn't be economicaly feasible for KFC at all.

And I would bet the meat would taste horrible.
