Where do we Learn our Beliefs? A journey into the SELF!

I am a 22 year old, living in the central area of the united states and I have begun a complete journey into the self! I have come across many bumps and turns and am now at a realization rest point. We all are searching for the ultimate truth. Wheather it be through science or religion. Well, where does one find such truth....we begin by looking at the big picture. To understand the ultimate truth we need to break it down. We need to learn about the universe, then the solar system. And to understand the solar system, we must first understand our own earth. But to understand the Earth, we must understand the oceans and the lands. Then the animals which inhabit these. Then the nations and civilizations. In order to understand the state, we must understand the order of things. The people...the family. Then ultimately we MUST understand the self.

Below are some example questions. Feel free to answer any or all of them...In order to understand myself...I must understand everyone else. For you see, we are all the same....

What is love?
What is truth?
What is the universe?
How do you view marriage?
How do you view religion?
What is your religion if any?
Have you begun a journey into the self?
Do you deem it necessary to have a jorney into the self?

And always....

We are all one.

Hi Earth.Child,

And I thought I am the only person who asks myself those kind of questions...

I think life as a journey. Just sitting in the car until u reach the destination is one option.
Some use the time "constructively" to progress on office work, others relax and read the newspaper. Some ( like me ) are more curious and take the opportunity to look outside and see where we are travelling... One moment we are there, the next its gone... its just that moment which offers that opportunity.

I think its easier to segregate this "analysis" into academic areas : Such as love, friendship, work, finance, knowledge, health, society, light, energy, time, ... the list depends on u. And then take the time ( oh, ultimately the most precious commodity ! ) to assess the weight of the moment or issue on each of the above, and vice-versa.

But, as u seem to have already started your journey, u will see that many of the answers are not precise, or even available... I ended up quite near to a poem often associated with Mother Theresa ... "The Final Analysis" ( U will find it easily on the net )

Best of luck

Believing in God can be complicated and difficult to explain why. Tell me what you think about this brief thought.

We do not see our own beginning and yet dread our own end; but is it the end? When we think of our body, our life, there is an end for all to see. When we think of all the things we see, read, feel, smell, say, hear, or even think there always seem to be a beginning, and an end, until we begin to think of our conscious selves; let us call this our soul.

The soul and the believed immortality of its existence, along with the Creator of such a wondrous thing, can be an overwhelming thought. Millions without much thought of what a Soul is, believe they have a soul. Some feel that their soul unites them with the Creator giving them eternal life, and again is something that can be taken from them by the Creator thus bringing a true end to their existence.

Some feel that their soul is only a part of God, the creator to all things, including the soul itself, and therefore it’s just an extension of Gods’ essence; which is shared with Humans, and perhaps all living creatures, just to enable life.

There are some that have said that a soul is only an idea used by man to overcome their fear in the realization that their lives too will end.

Talking to others about what they feel their soul is can give one a broader perspective. The endless ideas of what a soul can be, and one’s relationship to it, can be as diverse as there are people and religions.

This thing that we cannot see, and what science declares there is no physical evidence of, is so elusive in our hands but so close in our hearts.

This is the one and only thing that is believed by so many to exist, with so little proof. The little proofs that we have of there being a soul or a God is only in our feelings, and we would wonder how do we call this “Proof”. There are not many things that move people to be so protective, angered, or frightened than questioning their faith.
