IPB vs phpBB vs vB vs MyBBoard

Which one is your favourite Bulletin Board System(BBS)?
I want everyone's opinions on which one is the most feature-packed, user-friendly and highly configurable.
NOTE: My opinions are too biased so don't listen to me :P...

The OPINIONS!:
Number 1: Invision Power Board (IPB)
In my opinion, Invision Power Board, by fact is definately one of the best Bulletin Board Systems. Its been around for a long time and there are lots of useful mods/hacks, PLUS, its highly configurable. But the latest version of it isn't free and it is very buggy. Its made by the Invision Power Services, Inc.

Number 2: PHP Bulletin Board System (phpBB)
This is another good Bulletin Board System. Google Community is powered by this. There are lots of good mods/hacks available but most of them cost money

. But phpBB itself is open-source and free(I think). It doesn't have as many features as IPB but it is still good. Its made by the phpBB group.

Number 3: vBulletin (vB)
This one is the oldest bugger of the lot. Its been around for about 4 years. Its made by our old friend Jelsoft Corporation and as such has lots of mods/hacks too. Most game forums are powered by this.
Too bad you have to pay for this now, I think(maybe only if you want to register it, but I'm not sure).

Number 4: MyBulletinBoard (MyBBoard)
This one is my personal favourite. It hasn't been around for a long time, but this newcomer, in my opinion is the best choice for anyone looking for a free alternative to Invision Power Board. The Messenger Plus! forum is powered by MyBBoard and hosted by the MyBBoard Group who are also the authors of this Bulletin Board System. Its not only free but also open-source.

Check out the number of members in the msgplus forums...36,000 members can't be wrong in joining a MyBBoard community! :P Give me a link to an IPB powered forum with that many members....

I would vote for phpbb couse most of ppl use that board, I know it might have less features but it's easyer to use ...

No, the majority of board users use IPB 1.3, which is free and NOT phpBB...

Yeah, Mayur is right, its all based on opinion...I just like IPB and MyBBoard because of their looks and hehe...different styles appeal to different people

most of the phpbb hacks cost money, what are you talking about?

http://www.phpbbhacks.com all of those hacks are free and there's over 1,000.

im gonna have to give it to IPB on this one. ive used all 3 of the major ones listed (MyBB isnt something i would consider i dont think). i had problems with phpBB on my old server and lets just face it, im not going to be paying for a legitimate copy of VBulletin anytime soon. IPB on the other hand is a nice, free BB. even though you can buy a license, i just wait a couple of weeks extra to get the free version. no big deal. very nice looking too i believe.

....phpBB is winning...when I meant most of the phpBB hacks I meant like some of the most important ones like the ones on www.knightsofchaos.com ...but hey I may be wrong and just like I said, my opinions are too biased towards IPB and MyBBoard...didn't you read the warning? :P

very good idea, cvrk3. The board should be titled "Board Wars", and should be about which is generally the best choice for a BBS. For the sake of neutrality it should be neither of the 4 boards we will be discussing about. It can be self-made too :P. Keeping it at primitive as possible is best. Like we have to email you to edit a post manually and put whatever comments we want to put through you :P...
