Oh man You should be able to fix it if it's a simple connection problem though. You have the power!

Yeah, I'll have a look at it tomorrow. But if I have blown something on the motherboard, I'm screwed!

If that is the case, at least you can say 'I made a computer from nothing!'

R.I.P Ghetto PC. It is well and truly 'dead' . I might try again with another motherboard from school, but next time I will use a switch instead of a piece of metal to turn it on!

Does anyone know if you can have two hard discs to boot from? One of them will have XP on it and one of them will have Windows 98, with XP being the one I will use most. It's just that I don't have enough space on my main, 60GB, hard disc for a dual-boot system.

You should be able to. It will mean you will have to a hardware switch before you boot, I think.

Should I set them both as master or the one with Win 98 as slave?

I don't know, I'm to good on this side of things. I think that you would install 98 on one hd and xp on the other, before you boot you would have to change which hd was connected. Either that, or you could get a program that allowed you to choose which os to boot. I'm not sure wether a program like that exists though...

Two HDDS with one having XP and one having 98 will get you a NTLDR error, only thing you can do is partion the drive and do a dual boot
