One Big Crunch
B , B. The steady succession and combination of these notes are the story of my life. Two seemingly insignificant notes without meaning and without purpose. That’s me.
In the music world B and B played together is called 'a crunch'. Because the notes are just a half step apart they create an unpleasant sound when played at the same time. Although if one thinks about it objectively it's not a matter of pleasant and unpleasant it's simply a matter of the sound waves produced by these notes are so close together that the difference is noticeably unfamiliar. Separate the notes re just notes, neither good nor bad. Neutral. But played together they are "unpleasant" to our ear. But I say again this is simply one's perception of the tones. Because the notes separated are not in the negative one must treat them as a positive, being that is the nature of humans, no such thing as neutrality. Balance. Perfection. So if these two notes separate are positive they can't make a negative when combined, can they? That’s simply rubbish. Two rights can't make a wrong. Although...a theory that has been rolling around inside my head for quite some time is that being to positive can begat negative. What goes up must come down, no? The higher one goes the farther one falls, and with more intensity. But these incoherent ramblings of a madman accomplish nothing. I’ve drifted away from the point of the argument altogether. I can barely remember what I said in the first place. Something about notes and crunches. It is the story of my life though. One big crunch.
