Is it catchy?
Hello everyone.. I just wrote this beginning to a story and was wondering if you wanted to hear more because I don't plan on writing it if I'm going to get a negative response hehe.
Here it is.. What the hell was I doing? To be honest, I didn’t care that much. I just had to get away from…that place. It was about one in the morning, and I was wide awake. Man, was I wide awake. I don’t think I’d ever had that much adrenalin pumping through me at one time before. My arms felt so strong, strong enough to hold my bag. I had only taken a few things with me, but the brick was weighing it down. I needed that brick. It was a safety measure for me. Why a brick? I don’t know, but I’d knocked someone out before with one. That someone was lying unconscious right there, right then. Yes, I had knocked someone out. I don't know how I did it, I thought I wasn't that kind of person...but the blood made me feel satisfied. Don't get me wrong, I'm a nice enough person and if you were in my situation you would have done the same thing! I stumbled on down the narrow alleyway. I always found this alleyway scary when I was a child. I was forced down there everyday to get the milk and bread. I hate bread. That's all I ate for 15 years, maybe the occasion slice of meat or cheese. My ribs were going to protrude soon if I didn't have more nutrition. I came to a high wall, covered in poison ivy. It didn't block my way, but almost frightened me. It was as if it was towering over me, knowing what I did, and what I was doing. I suddenly heard a voice. A vicious scream followed by some almost unregognisable speech. "GET BACK 'ERE RIGHT NOW!! DO YOU HEAR ME?" Shit. She found out. I ran and ran and ran. I gasped for air but didn't stop. I was way into town by now. My arms didn't feel strong anymore. They felt weak and tired. My legs were shaking all over the place. What was I doing? I asked myself again. I had to keep going, keep running. I could never go back. But where would I go? I ran into some old tramp, just fumbling his way back from the pub to his street corner, his safety zone. I took a horrifying moment to think what if I ended up like that? Smelly, poor and helpless. He just growled something to me that I couldn't understand. I came to a small shop. It was still open. One of those 24 hour things. I sidled in, cool as anything, but my brain was going to burst any second with fear. |

So? What happens next?
(Or are you just trying to think of an alibi, because you really just smacked someone unconcious with a brick? You haven't broken broken, have you?) |
